Me Wanty

This is the style wallpaper I want for the parlors...

This is another Shorpy Shot. I'm going to go for an eclectic mix in my design choices. The fabric of the house will be period (lighting, wall coverings, woodwork) with everything else being an eclectic mix of contemporary and other decidedly historically inaccurate pieces. They will be mostly second-hand and span decades. The only prerequisite will be no synthetic materials.

Very nice! Do you have a source? I have a couple of links to reproduction wallpaper companies if you need 'em.

It is nice, isn't it. I have a few bookmarks, but nothing concrete. If you have any sources, send them my way.

absolutely beautiful wallpaper - I see why you want it! It will be awesome in your house!

I've read every one of your blogs in the last week - a friend at work sent me a link to Oldhouseweb, and I found this from there. My husband isn't speaking to me, I don't think...

I cried when you lost Sadie & Mortimer. I'd send you one of my 5, but I see you already have another project :) Good luck with him!

You do wonderful work - and it's encouraging that you do it with the same crappy woodworking tools we have! Keep it up!

Am I the only person who is not seeing an image?

Thanks for the nice comments tracerslady.

Karen, go to http://www.shorpy.com/ if the image does not show up. It is the image titled, "Through the Looking-Glass" submitted on 11/12/2008

Thanks, Greg. Wow, what a site. Ah, the old days.

Greg, When I saw the photo on your blog I immediately thought of this: www.victorianwallpaper.com/Fortino.htm and this: www.victorianwallpaper.com/arabesque.htm

You can also check out www.bradbury.com, although I didn't see anything there that looks similar to the photo in your post and www.wolffhousewallpapers.com. They have some really interesting patterns, but again, nothing that looks so similar to the photo. Hope this helps.

That's a really nice pattern. I found something like it here
http://www.americanblinds.com/products/wallpaper/product_detail.asp?ptn=8843274&prid=1016860
There were more colors in the book.
If you find something elsewhere you could put the pattern number there and save some money. I have purchased wallpaper there and have been very happy.

And are you going to bag your chandelier like this one, too?
Notice the matching frieze and ceiling papers.
Here is my collection. Enjoy!

Lots to chose from....but I want that paper!!! {said in a pouting child's voice}

And Marilyn, yes, I noticed the "bagged chandelier". How interesting is that!?! I just might be forced to do it now that I've seen it in the old photo.

Gorgeous wallpaper! It is so perfect. If you can't find an exact match, you could always recreate it with stenciling - talk about a meticulous time consuming job! Let's hope you find it :-)

All three papers there are very nice, I have been thinking about doing something very similar on my dining room walls - not so sure I'd go as far as the ceiling though.
