Everyone Is Safe!

Just got home and got a message from my Mom. My sister and her husband made it out of NO and are staying in Kentucky with my niece. Her job provides her with an apartment there while she is working in the state. The future is still unknown but at least everybody is alive and well. Thank you to all for the kind words and offers of assistance.

EDIT:

My family is safe and for that I’m thankful, but why are so many people in New Orleans still without anything. I don’t understand. Where are the transport helicopters with pallets of water and food at the Super Dome and the Convention Center? It has been 4 days. It has been 4 days. It has been 4 days. It has been 4 days. It has been 4 days. It has been 4 days. It has been 4 days. It has been 4 days. It has been 4 days. It has been 4 days. It has been 4 days. It has been 4 days. It has been 4 days. It has been 4 days. It has been 4 days. It has been 4 days. It has been 4 days. It has been 4 days. It has been 4 days. It has been 4 days. It has been 4 days. Where is the government???? Where is the government????
Where is the government????
Where is the government????
Where is the government????
Where is the government????
Where is the government????
Where is the government????
Where is the government????
Where is the government????
Where is the government????
Where is the government????
Where is the government????
Where are the troops?????
Where are the troops?????
Where are the troops?????
Where are the troops?????
Where are the troops?????
Where are the troops?????
Where are the troops?????
Where are the troops?????

I'm very glad to hear your family is safe.

It is hard to watch people suffering down there and nothing being done to help them. Did you see the Astrodome closed to more people?

So glad to hear that they are safe. It is unbelievable how slow recovery from our government seems. It always seems so quick and organized other places.

glad your family is safe.

Maybe our government is lacking resources and focus having spent too much of it in another country. I was thinking the same thing watching tv this morning- This is totally unacceptable!

If this is how we respond to a disaster, how well prepared are we really for a terrorist attack?? How much different is this? And what has all that Homeland Security money been for if we aren't prepared to mobilize when needed on a dime?

I'm mad- I can't imagine how anhry and disappointed the people there are.

I'm glad your family is safe too. I have a friend who lives there, and he stayed as well, and managed to get out, and is on his way here. I think he lived in a higher floor in an apartment building, and may not have lost everything, but his life is still forever changed.

I've sent my pittance along to help, but I, too am furious. It is hardly a consolation to have the world see the incompetence and stupidity of our leadership in such glaring terms. So many people have suffered and died needlessly. It makes me cry and scream with outrage, sorrow and frustration.

I wish your sister and family the best. If she is like you, she'll come through fine.
