Visit From The Neighbor

The visit was welcomed, but unannounced. I was painting the door to the laundry room – this is the last thing I need to do until this room is officially finished. Anyway, I was painting the door and I had the backdoor open. He strolled in while I wasn’t looking and made himself at home in the front parlor.

He hung out for about an hour and checked out the entire house. Eventually made his way back outside.

It sounds like Greg's in love. He/she is really handsome/beautiful.

Aw, it's so nice to see one of his kind around the house again! Now if only he'd gotten in your way/rubbed up against the wet paint/drawn blood in order to make the visit really meaningful!

Al, Yes, by quietly sitting in a chair he really didn't live up to the standards of a real cat who lives in the house.

Really, though, he is the neighbor's cat. He lives two houses over. He's been the yard more than a few times, but this is the first time he has come in and made himself at home like that. The absence of the other two cats probably made that possible.

Cute cat..
A plaster question for you, if you can help. I followed your recommendations and the Worley PDF regarding plaster replacement. Struggling... I did not get a good finish with the last coat of veneer plaster. I used straight Diamond veneer for the last coat as you did rather than the mix Worley recommends. Can you give more detail on the whole "spray bottle and scrapper method" to get a good final finish? And now that it has hardened, how do I sand it? The sandpaper just gets gummed up. Is it still too wet, should I use a screen? I have been searching the web for help but have come up short. Can you help?
Thanks

Nice shot, too. I love the little soft paw on the raised wood.

what you need is for people across the country to drive to Eureka and dump kitties in your back yard, early Saturday mornings.

Bonnie,

The spray bottle thing is something the pros would probably giggle at. It works for me though. I'm not sure how to explain it better, though. Before the plaster sets up too firm (within a half hour or so) I squirt the water on areas that came out less than perfect and clean them up with a scraper. Sometimes I'm adding a little more plaster, sometimes I 'm taking some away. I'm working with a teaspoon of plaster at a time. It is fine, detail work. I'm trying to fix major mistakes with this.

OK that is really cute.

Wanna hear something funny? If a furry cutie of the feline variety ever wandered in one of our open doors while Mr. King Street was working on the house, I'd have to rush him to the hospital. That's how allergic he is! Shame, too, because that kitty kind of makes me want to curl up with a good book and scratch his ears for hours.
